Caprese salad

It’s time to be back to the wonderful Italy with a delicious and easy recipe, a caprese salad. This salad is one of the easiest to prepare but it does not mean less taste. It contains an excellent mixture among mozzarella, basil and tomato.

The origin of this italian caprese salad is Capri Island, where roman emperors took a rest and nowadays know as the european jet set.
This salad has as well, the following colors: green, white and red, as the italian flag.

Furthermore, as one of its main ingredients is tomato, Caprese Salad is rich in vitamin C,A,B1,B2, B5 and crucial minerals as magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium. Its high lycopene content prevent cancer and strength the immune system, aiding to eliminate infections.

Ingredients:

  • 3 Tomate de Colgar
  • 1 Mozzarella fresca
  • 1 Spring Onion
  • Fresh basil
  • Nuts
  • Modena Vinegar
  • Salt
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Pepper

Elaboration

  1. Cut the spring onion, mozzarella and Tomate de Colgar
  2. Place everything on a recipient
  3. Chop the basil and the nuts and pour them over the salad
  4. Season and add oil and vinegar as your preference.
  5. Have a good meal!
